Cobras Drop Road Contest At Lander
Bearcats pull away late to top Coker Tuesday night.

Greenwood, Sc. - Lander jumped out to a ane early two goal lea, and used a big second half to power past Coker Tuesday night. The Cobras (0-5) registered 16 saves between two goalies, while the Bearcats (4-2) took advantage of opportunities to take Tuesday's match.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Coker had the its first chance of the night to score in the third minute, but sound defense on a corner kept the Cobras off the board.
Lander took advantage of its chance in the first quarter when Dusty-Rose Miller put a goal in the back of the net.
Aleena Januchowksi ripped the Cobras lone shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but was turned away by Avery Tworkoski.
The Beartcats capatalized on a chance in the second quarter to double its lead heading into the half.
Sophomore goalkeeper, Eve Sekscinski put together a great first half, saving 10 shots for Coker to help keep the game at a two goal advantage for Lander. She ended the game with 13 saves for the Cobras.
Lander added three more goals in the second half to eventually help pull away from Coker.
The Cobras put together four shots on the night, with one being on target on the offensive side, while Sekscinski and Emma Reininga saved a combine 16 shots on the night.

Coker returns to action Friday at home when they take on Lincoln Memorial in a conference matchup.
