Coker University's field hockey team emerged victorious with a 3-1 win over Maryville on October 20, 2023. The game took place at Coker Athletic Field and lasted for 1 hour and 20 minutes, with an attendance of 77 spectators.

Coker dominated the game from the start, taking an early lead in the first period when Amba Brown scored a goal assisted by Kaiya Sabur. This put Coker ahead 1-0. Despite numerous attempts from Maryville, they were unable to find the back of the net and went into halftime trailing by a goal.

In the third period, Coker extended their lead to 2-0 with a goal from Aleena Januchowksi, assisted by Wibien Dahmen. However, Maryville quickly responded with a goal of their own, scored by Calista Crocker and assisted by Alison Tom, bringing the score to 2-1.

In the final period, Coker sealed their victory with another goal, this time from Kaiya Sabur, assisted by Kelly Naude. The game ended with a final score of 3-1 in favor of Coker.

Coker's goalkeeper, Eve Sekscinski, played a crucial role in the win, making 8 saves throughout the game. Maryville's goalkeeper, Liz Bierhals, made 6 saves but couldn't prevent the goals from Coker.
