Coker Field Hockey Comes Up Short Vs. Limestone

In a tightly contested matchup, Coker came up short to Limestone with a final score of 3-2 in a field hockey game on October 17, 2023.


The game started off with both teams struggling to find the back of the net, resulting in a goalless first quarter. However, Coker managed to break the deadlock in the second quarter when Wibien Dahmen scored an unassisted goal, giving her team a 1-0 lead.

Limestone fought back in the third quarter, with Maddy Stuart scoring an unassisted goal to equalize the game at 1-1. Just minutes later, Zoe Bergmann added another goal to Limestone's tally, putting them in the lead at 2-1. However, Coker responded with a goal from Coda Fisher to level the score at 2-2 heading into the fourth quarter.

The final quarter saw both teams battling for the win, but it was Limestone who came out on top. In the dying minutes of the game, Zoe Bergmann scored her second goal of the match, assisted by Felicitas Herrero Martel, securing a 3-2 victory for Limestone.

Coker's goalkeeper, Eve Sekscinski, made an impressive save, preventing further goals from Limestone. On the other side, Tereza Koprivova, Limestone's goalkeeper, made three saves throughout the game.

Penalty corners were evenly distributed between the two teams, with Limestone having six and Coker having nine.
