Coker Battles but Falls Short Against Belmont Abbey in Saturday Match

The Cobras started off the game strong with an early lead against Belmont Abbey, goal scored by Delaney Mitchell. Coker held the lead until Belmont Abbey answered with two goals scored in the third quarter. In response, the Cobras tied the match, goal scored once again by Delaney Mitchell.

Although the Cobras outshot the Crusaders 12-7, Belmont Abbey was to secure their victory in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter. Delaney Mitchell and Kaiya Sabur led the team with three shots individually, followed by Payton Baronella-O'toole with two shots. Coda Fisher, Chase Lennon, Kelsey Sithole, and Cato Bartstra also had one shot each. Both goalies, Mar Hondeman and Emma Reininga had thirty minutes each throughout the game. Hondeman led with four saves and Reininga with none. 

The Cobras will return to the field against Lander next Tuesday (Nov. 1st) at 5:00 PM. The match will take place in Greenwood, SC. Live stream and stat information will be posted to www.cokercobras.com
