BELMONT, N.C. - The Coker College field hockey team dropped their regular season finale at Belmont Abbey 1-0 Saturday (Nov. 10) afternoon in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action. Coker finished the regular season with a 6-6 overall record and a 5-5 mark in conference play.
The Crusaders tallied the game's lone goal in the 65th minute of action. The Cobras fought valiantly down the stretch and were able to fire off three shots in the final 15 minutes of regulation. However, Coker was unable to find the back of the cage and fell to the Crusaders.
Amelia Gajewski led the Cobras offensive unit, recording three shots, while Alyssa Baronella-O'Toole was able to tally one shot. In goal, Kelsey Gibbons collected six saves.
The Navy and Gold have locked down the fourth seed in the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Tournament and will travel to Limestone to take on the Saints in the semifinals on Friday (Nov. 16) at 4 PM.
