Coker Esports Falls Short to University of Alabama Huntsville

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker University Esports team faced off against University Alabama Huntsville during the first match of the Hearthstone Open Division.

The first game in the BO5 was a Highlander Hunter mirror. Alabama Huntsville was able to get the early advantage, and with help from a turn 8 Dinotamer Brann they were able to find damage for lethal. Game two showcased a new deck type for this expansion for both teams with Coker playing Galakrond Warlock and Alabama Huntsville playing Galakrond Rogue. This time it was Coker with the early advantage, and Alabama Huntsville unable to remove Coker's minions they were able to win game two and equal the score.

In game three Coker brought back their Highlander Hunter and Alabama Huntsville brought out their Quest Druid. Both teams started off slow and this allowed Alabama Huntsville to comfortably get their quest done in just four turns. Coker was able to get down Dragonqueen Alexstrazsa on curve, but Alabama Huntsville was able to weather the storm and win the game late. In game four Coker played their Highlander Hunter again against Alabama Huntsville's Galakrond Rogue. Neither team held an advantage until Alabama Huntsville was able to flood the board with five minions. Coker was unable to answer, and Alabama Huntsville won the match 3-1. 

The Coker Esports team will be back in action on Saturday (Mar.7) when the take on Florida Southern at 3:00 PM in League of Legends.
