Cobras Fall to the University of Houston in Hearthstone Play

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College Hearthstone B team played their fifth match of the season on Monday (Mar. 25) against the University of Houston, with the winner qualifying for the playoffs.

In the first game Houston was able to find a win with their Even Warlock against Coker's Odd Paladin. For the second game Coker decided to bring out their Midrange Hunter and Houston decided to use their Odd Paladin Deck. Coker had some slow draws and it allowed Houston to get the board early and win by turn seven. Coker decided to bring back their Midrange Hunter against Houston's last deck, Dragon Priest. Coker was able to get early agro in order to win the game and force a game four. For the fourth game Coker brought out their Odd Rogue deck, and with a powered up Vicious Fledgling to win by turn seven. It came down to the fifth and final game, and Coker started off strong with their Odd Paladin deck but Houston was able to come back and control the board. Coker was not able to recover and Houston won the match 3-2.

The loss puts Coker at 4-1 and still in the hunt for playoffs. With two more matches in the season, Coker just needs to find one more to make the playoffs.
