Esports Falls in Close League of Legends Matchup With the University of Florida

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College League of Legends team was back in action on Saturday (Mar. 2) for the final time against the University of Florida.

Both teams entered with a 3-2 record and are looking to end the season on a positive note. The first game started off strong with a first blood from Blake Pack and Alex Mueller in the bot lane. Coker was also able to get the second kill of the game but Florida answered with a teleport to pick up three kills. The game opened up from here with kills all around the map as the kill score was 8-7 at the 16 minute mark with Florida in the lead by a single kill, but Coker was around a thousand gold behind because Florida was able to take a tower. The game stayed even for the majority of the game but Florida was able to find some Cobras caught out of position and was able to get the kills that led to a win in game one. Game two started the same way the first did with the bot lane getting first blood. Throughout the game Coker had been leading in kills but Florida had been leading in turrets, resulting in an even game when it came to gold. The Cobras had good pressure on the map resulting in them being able to take three dragons which will help them in their team fights. The Cobras were able to catch out the enemy jungle, then quickly moved to Baron which allowed them to open up the base and get two inhibitors. Coker was inches away from ending the game, but Florida was able to come back to defend their base. Soon after Florida won a close teamfight to win the game and the match.

This was the last match for the Coker Cobra's League of Legends team, but you can keep up to date with the rest of the esports program at www.twitter.com/cokeresports.
