Coker Esports Takes Down USC Sumter Again, Falls to UCF

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College Overwatch team had two Varsity Matches back to back, and both of them were rematches against USC Sumter and the University of Central Florida.

The first match was against USC Sumter, and was a rematch from the Regional game this past Sunday. The first map was Ilios and Coker started off with a bang by taking the first round 100% to 0%. Second round, Sumter came back and took control of the map, but Coker came back to take the point. The Cobras were able to hold onto the point to win the map. Next map was King's Row and Coker was on Offense first. The Cobras took quick control of the point and used that momentum to push all the way to the end. Sumter was then forced to answer back with a successful push of their own, but the Cobras held strong to stop them on the first point.

Next match was against UCF, the Cobras faced off against the Knights four times in the Tespa preseason. The first map was Nepal and UCF got to the point first, but Coker was able to get the point back. Both teams were around the 40% mark when UCF took the point back. The Cobras tried to take the point, but UCF was able to keep them away and take the round. Second round was much closer as both teams got to the 99% mark. The Cobras had control of the point at the point but UCF was able to take it back. Coker fought back, but UCF was able to push them off to end Overtime and win the map. Second map was King's Row and Coker started on  defense. The round started off with Coker holding back UCF, but they were able to eventually move past the Cobra's defense and push through the map. Next it was Coker's turn to answer and after a few teamfights, the Cobras were able to get the payload moving. After a quick second point, they hit a roadblock right after the second point. The Cobras were not able to get past this point and UCF won the map, and the match 2-0.

This puts the Cobras at second place in their group at 4-1. They will return this Thursday with their match against High Point University and you can catch all of the action at www.twitch.tv/cokeresports.
