Esports Sweeps Central Methodist and St. Clair

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker College esports team continued Overwatch Tespa preseason action on Sunday (Sept. 30) evening with 2-0 sweeps over Central Methodist University and St. Clair College.

The first match was against the Central Methodist Eagles and the Cobras went out swinging as they won Oasis in the first two rounds. The next map was Route 66 where the Cobras capped all three points with over three minutes left in the time bank. On defense, Coker guarded the second point to win the map 3-1, capturing the series victory 2-0.

Next, the Cobras took on St. Clair College and began the match by winning Junkertown. Coker stalled the Saints at the first point from an effective Grav/Dragons combo from Dustin Brown and Michael Ponton. The next map of Lijiang Tower was more competitive as the first two teams traded rounds. In the third and final round, the Navy and Gold were able to capture the map and the series 2-0. The Cobras will be back in action on Sunday (Oct. 7) for week three of the Overwatch Tespa preseason.
