Coker Selects Stinson to Lead Spirit Squad

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College has named Cierra Stinson as its head spirit squad coach, Dr. Lynn Griffin, vice president of athletics and athletic facilities announced today.

"We are excited to welcome Cierra back to Coker as our spirit coach" said Griffin. "She was an integral member of our team when she was a student-athlete here and her experiences since graduating make her the perfect fit for Coker".

Stinson, a 2016 Coker College graduate, returns to Hartsville to lead the Coker spirit squad after previously serving as the groups and events manager at Adventure Air Sports in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Prior to her time there she spent time as a professional dancer at the Charlotte Repertory Dance Theater, performing at various events in Charlotte and educational dance tours in South Carolina.

Stinson also worked as a dance teacher for just under two years in the Lancaster County School District and spent the two years prior as a dance teacher at Move Dance Academy in Hartsville, South Carolina.

"I am really excited for the opportunity to give back to a place that was once home for me", said Stinson. "Coker gave me the best 5 years of my life and I am thrilled to be a part of the Cobras family once again. Dance and cheer have been such a big part of my life since I was a little girl and I now have the opportunity to make it a lifelong career."

Stinson graduated from Coker College in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography and was a member of the Coker spirit squad.
