HOT IT HAPPENED:
The Cobras struck early and often Tuesday evening. After allowing one run in the top of the 1st, Coker erased that deficit. Gabriel Santiago started the inning off with a double, and was later brought in on a two RBI single from Gavin Edens. Ian Miller later singled in the right center gap, and took a 4-1 lead into the second.
In the third Coker struck once more, this time they created chaos on the basepaths. Rocco Wojcik started the inning off with a walk and stole second base. Luke Alford brought him in with a sacrifice fly later in the inning. Coker added another run on Ian Miller's second hit of the day and quickly found themselves leading 6-1 after three.
Wyatt Tucker was great in his first start of the season. He worked the minimum batters in the second, third, and fourth innings to help the Cobras jump out to their early lead. Through those first four inning he struck out three Trojan batters.
In the fifth, Coker threatened to tack on more insurance. After a leadoff walk from Wojcik, Edens singled up the middle, and Luke Alford walked, Coker found themselves with bases loaded and no out. Mount Olive worked out of the inning though, turning a double play and rolling a ground ball to keep the score at 6-1.
Coker added more in the seventh and eighth. In the seventh, Coker scored five runs on two hits, while Mount Olive made two errors to help Coker put the game away. In the eighth, the Cobras plated seven more, with most of their runs coming with bases loaded, as they roped three timely hits in the inning.
The Cobras eventually took down the nations 13th ranked team 18-2 with Wyatt Tucker picking up the win, and Britton Adams securing a save on the night.
