
Cobras Win Tenth Straight, Sweep Emory & Henry
Gabriel Santiago singled in the 10th inning to help Coker past Emory & Henry to complete a three game sweep.
HARTSVILLE, SC. - Gabriel Santiago hit a bases loaded single in the 10th inning Monday afternoon to help Coker complete a three game sweep of Emory & Henry. The Cobras have now won 10 straight games dating back to their series with Chowan.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Coker scored first Monday afternoon with its pressure that they seemingly always put on opposing teams. Kyler Odom stole second, as Gabriel Santiago broke for home. Santiago worked his way out of a pickle, giving Coker a 1-0 lead early. Gavin Edens doubled the lead in the second inning with a single up the middle plating Alex Lazar. The freshman had a career day, roping three hits, and scoring four times.
The Cobras held the Wasps off the board until the third inning. Emory & Henry scored three runs in the third to take the lead. From there the two teams began exchanging leads. Hunter Poole gave Coker the lead in the top of the fourth, and after a Wasps run, Kyler Odom put the Cobras back infront in the fifth.
In the sixth, Coker retook the lead when Edens ripped another base hit. Three batters later, Santiago brought in another run. In the top of the eighth, Coker found themselves trailing once more. The Cobras scored on a wild pitch, to ultimately force extra innings.
Tyler Satterley was great in relief for Coker working out of minimal jams, keeping the Wasps at bay. In the ninth inning, after surrendering a leadoff walk. Emory & Henry roped a ball to Adam Wilkerson in left field, who came up firing, throwing out the lead runner at third base. The Cobras took that momentum into the top half of the 10th, and quickly found themselves with bases loaded. Gabriel Santiago singled with the bases loaded to give Coker a 8-7 lead. That lead was all Satterley needed, working a quick 1-2-3 inning to finish off the Wasps and give Coker a three game sweep.
Satterley earned his third win on the season. Edens three hits is a career high for the freshman.

Coker has now won 10 games in a row ahead of its weekend series with nationally ranked Lenoir-Rhyne.
