
Cobras Fall to the Eagles at Home
Hartsville, SC- In a matchup between Carson-Newman and Coker on May 3, 2024, the Carson-Newman Eagles took the playoff game with an 8-4 win over the Coker Cobras. The Eagles got off to a strong start, scoring five runs in the first two innings, including a home run by J. Denten in the first. Coker managed to cut into the lead with runs in the second and third innings, but Carson-Newman continued to add to their lead throughout the game.
Denten had a standout performance for the Eagles, driving in four runs on the night. L. Floyd also had a big game, going 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI. On the pitching side, G. Hughes earned the win for Carson-Newman, allowing just one run over 6.1 innings while striking out eight batters.
