ROCK HILL, S.C. - Coker University senior Phill Griffor was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Player of the Week, announced by the league today (Mar. 1).
Griffor recorded hits in eight consecutive at-bats and finished the week 12-17 at the plate. He led the Cobras to a 3-1 record, including a three-game sweep of UVA Wise to open SAC play. He hit .706 with two doubles, five runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base for the week, with a slugging percentage of .824 and an on-base percentage of .737.
This is Griffor's first career Player of the Week honor.
The China, Mich. native is the son of Jayne Griffor and is majoring in business administration.
