Baseball Drops Doubleheader Against Wingate

Game One: 

 

Coker would strike first from a RBI sacrifice fly to center from Drew Klaserner, scoring Cam Murray who reached earlier from a double to left-center to put the Cobras on top 1-0. 

 

Wingate would tie it up in the second to make it 1-1. 

 

Coker would regain the lead in the bottom of the second, when Kristofer Blanco scored on a sac fly from Lake Lybrand after a triple to center field. 

 

Wingate would plate two runs in the third from a two-run home run to take the lead at 3-2. 

 

Coker would tie it right back up in the bottom of the third when Reilly Hall would launch a solo home run over the right field wall.

 

Wingate would plate three in the fourth to take the 6-3 lead over the Cobras. 

 

Coker would cut into the Bulldog lead in the fifth when Cory Listing's RBI single would plate Phil Griffor (6-4). 

 

Wingate's offense would surge in the sixth and the seventh when they would plate six runs to bring the final game score to 12-4. 



Game 2 

 

The Bulldogs would jump out ahead early, taking a 3-0 lead in the first and then scoring two more in the third to add on to the lead.

 

Coker would get on the board in the fourth when Nick Leonard would send a two-run double to left center, scoring Hall and Listing to make it 5-2. 

 

Wingate would score a run in the fifth, and two in the sixth to make it 8-2.

 

Coker would score in the sixth from a Listing RBI single to left-center, scoring Klaserner to make it 8-3. 

 

The Cobras would score in the seventh from Murray's RBI single through the left side plating Blanco, who reached from hit up the middle to make it 8-4. 

 

Wingate would score two more runs from a two-run home run to make the final game score 10-4. 

 

Nolan Ledger pitched well in relief for Coker, striking out four over 2.2 innings of work.
