Coker Falls to Tusculum in Sunday's Series Finale

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker University baseball team came up short in Sunday's (Mar. 8) series finale against the Tusculum University Pioneers by a score of 5-3.

The Cobras were able to jump out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Phill Griffor singled to left field to score Grant Thompson and Chase Bruno. After the Pioneers tied the game in the second inning, Griffor gave Coker the lead back in the bottom of the third with a solo home run.

Tusculum rallied back in the fourth inning, and never looked back as they went on to win by a score of 5-3. Grant Thompson led the Cobras with three hits, while Griffor finished with a home run and three RBI's. Griffin Hollifield had another great performance out of the bullpen, throwing three scoreless innings.
