FULL SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE RELEASE
ROCK HILL, S.C. – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Baseball Players of the Week from week two of the 2020 season on Tuesday (Feb. 11). Coker's John DeFazio earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
DeFazio, a junior from Vienna, VA, is a transfer from the University of Tampa where he recorded 43 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched. In his first start for the Cobras against Chowan on Feb. 2nd, John struck out 10 hitters over the course of six innings. He followed that up with another quality start against the Alderson Broaddus University Battlers on Sunday (Feb. 9), throwing a complete game and striking out nine, allowing zero earned runs.
The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Feb. 15) when they play host to the Seton Hill University Griffins in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., live coverage can be found at www.cokercobras.com.
