Baseball Hosts Lincoln Memorial in Weekend Conference Series
Cobras seeking a solid conference series win over the RailSplitters
HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College baseball team will play host to the Lincoln Memorial University RailSplitters on Friday and Saturday (April 6-7) at Tom J. New Field at Dave Schmotzer Stadium. Video and live-stats can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
Coker looks to get back on track after a weekend series against Mars Hill. The Cobras plated 14 runs in the series up in North Carolina. Senior shortstop Bryson Conner had a healthy day at the plate in game one with a 3-for-5 going with a double and two runs driven in. Brooks Estrada, Connor Cleary and Thomas Lopez all collected a multi-hit game as well.
Overall Estrada leads the team in batting average and slugging at .363 and .522 marks. Reilly Hall recently had his consecutive on-base streak halted, but the freshman outfielder reached safely in 19-staright before that. Hall leads the team in on-base percentage at .448, drawing a team-high 19 walks heading into the weekend.
Thus far Jake Moore has been the most effective reliever out of the Navy and Gold bullpen, holding a 3.63 ERA in 17.1 innings of work. Moore is 1-1 on the season in nine appearances with one save.
The Cobras and RailSplitters will take the field on Friday, April 6 at 3:00 p.m. from Tom J. New Field at Dave Schmotzer Stadium. The game will be featured on the Cobra Sports Network with a live video stream. Live-stats can also be accessed by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
