Acrobatics and Tumbling Has Five Named Academic All-Conference

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University acrobatics and tumbling team had five athletes named to the Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference Teams, announced today (Apr 21) by the conference. 

The Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference Teams Presented by Barnes & Noble College consist of junior and senior student-athletes in the conference who have competed in a conference-sponsored sport and maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution.

Paula Urquidi, Julie McMillan, Maleighia Haymon, Madison McAfee, and Amber Garcia were the student-athletes selected from Coker.

Urquidi, a junior from Langley, British Columbia, Canada, is the daughter of Liliana Ornelas and Alfonso Urquidi and is majoring in exercise science.

McMillan, a junior from Bennettsville, S.C., is the daughter of Paige and Scott McMillan and will graduate with a degree in biology.

Haymon, a junior from Lyman, S.C., is the daughter of Ameber and Bruce Choen and will graduate with a degree in psychology.

McAfee, a junior from Chapin, S.C., is the daughter of Todd and Jamie McAfee and is majoring in business and marketing.

Garcia, a sophomore from Clover, S.C. is the daughter of Madeline and Roger Garcia and is majoring in biology pre-med.
