Bio

Steven Welsh was named the Assistant Coach of Coker Softball in July 2025. He comes to Coker from Fayetteville State, where he served as the Assistant Coach and Pitching Coach last season, greatly impacting the results of FSU pitchers through inventive systems and programs. Before being with the Broncos, he held the same role at Southeastern Community College from 2021-24. His coaching career started with various travel ball teams, where he was the head coach from 2017-21.

Welsh comes from a military background, which is what he did for his career before moving full-time into coaching. He received his Bachelor's in Political Science from the University of Maryland in 2017, then followed that with a Master's in Public Administration from Villanova University in 2018.
