Enactus’ “Let’s CAN Hunger" Campaign to Sponsor Basketball Game
The Coker Enactus team will sponsor a food drive during the men's and women's basketball games on Jan. 25.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College Enactus team will sponsor a canned food drive in the lobby of the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium on Saturday, Jan. 25 during the men’s and women’s basketball games against Tusculum College.
The food drive is part of the “Let’s CAN Hunger” campaign, an initiative sponsored by Campbell Soup Company to relieve hunger and find long-term solutions to the complex challenges of food insecurity in America. The Coker Enactus team was selected to compete in the campaign.
Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the games, with two or more canned items earning free admission. In addition, Enactus will be giving fans a chance to win prizes with promotions during halftime of each game.
The Enactus team will also be promoting its “Let’s CAN Hunger” Amazing Race during the food drive and asking faculty, staff and community members to sign up at the game. The Amazing Race – a two-hour canned food collecting event – will be held on Coker’s campus Feb. 11.
Those who cannot make it to the games but would still like to be part of the campaign can drop off donations at any of the following locations: the Enactus office in Grannis Hall, Coker College Library, Coker College Post Office, Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, Duke Energy Center for Innovation, Hartsville Community Library, Matt’s Game Exchange, LuLu’s Boutique or the Hartsville YMCA.
