MACK PROMOTED TO ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ATHLETIC MEDIA RELATIONS
Hartsville, SC - Coker University Athletics has announced the promotion of David Mack into the role of Assistant Director of Media Relations.
Mack, formerly the Graduate Assistant for Athletic Media Relations, arrived at Coker in January of this year to begin his previous role. He has assisted in all aspects of athletic media relations, including social media, public address and play-by-play announcing, website management, and much more. Currently, he is serving as the Interim Director of Athletic Media Relations until the arrival of newly-appointed director Tyler Thomas this coming Monday, September 23rd.
Prior to Coker, Mack graduated in December 2023 from NAIA Ohio Christian University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sport and Business Management. While at OCU, he was a senior member of the athletic department as a student worker and assisted in every aspect of the department from sports information to facility management and much more. He also served as the public address announcer for all sports during his four years at the institution, and was on the men’s tennis team, captaining the team in his final year of play.
Also while at OCU, Mack had multiple experiences in the field of athletics. He was named the Public Address Announcer for Ohio State’s Women’s Volleyball team for the Fall of 2023 following a rigorous audition process. He also held two internships, one during the school year with the Circleville City Schools athletic department and the other during the summer with the Akron RubberDucks, the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians.
“In David’s short time at Coker, he has made his mark as a broadcaster, his work on videos, and the improved graphics” said Dr. Lynn Griffin, Vice President of Athletics and Athletic Facilities.
Mack began his full-time role officially at the beginning of this week and looks forward to helping guide the department to the best of his ability in this new capacity.
