
Men's Golf Honored with GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Award
NORMAN, Okla. - The men's golf team was recently honored with the 2023-24 GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Award. This prestigious award recognizes the team's exceptional academic achievements and study dedication. The team was among 240 schools across six divisions that earned this recognition.
The GCAA also announced the Academic National Champions for each division, with Harvard, Maryville, Kenyon, Keiser, Western Texas, Southwestern (IA), and Virginia Union taking the top spots in their respective divisions based on GPA.
In addition to the Academic National Champions, the GCAA also recognized schools with President's Special Recognition for achieving a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Coker University was among the schools in NCAA Division II to receive this honor, showcasing their commitment to academic excellence.
The GCAA also highlighted All-Academic Teams with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with the Cobras being one of the 25 schools in NCAA Division II to achieve this distinction.
The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) was established in 1958 and serves as the professional organization of men's collegiate golf coaches. The GCAA's mission is to support its member coaches from various divisions, including the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA, by providing educational opportunities, resources, and recognition for their achievements on and off the golf course.
