
Mitchem, Stiles, and Women's Track & Field Named 2024 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women's Track & Field All-Academic
NEW ORLEANS – All-Academic Athletes for the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Track & Field seasons were announced on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Here are the criteria to be named an NCAA Division II All-Academic Athlete:
- Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale through the end of the semester of competition. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0]. Data must be certified by the institution's registrar.
- Must have completed at least 24 semester hours/36 quarter hours through the end of the semester of competition at the institution.
- Transfer students and/or graduate students are to include only grades earned at the current nominating institution.
- The student-athlete must have achieved an automatic or provisional qualifying mark (individual or relay event) for either the indoor season or outdoor season.
Both Mitchem and Stiles exemplify what it means to be a student-athlete, balancing the demands of competition and academics with excellence. Their dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed, as they have been recognized for their achievements on and off the track.
The women's track and field team at Coker University has also been recognized for their commitment to academic success. With a team GPA of 3.45, they have shown that they are not only talented athletes but also dedicated students.
