Cobras Place Two on SAC All-Conference

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Eva Siska was voted the 2024 South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year, while Lenoir-Rhyne's Runa Muderrisoglu was voted the Conference's Freshman of the Year.  In addition, Wingate head coach Derrick Taylor was named the Coach of the Year, the SAC office announced today.

Siska, a junior from Shreveport, La., compiled a 15-1 record at No. 1 singles for the Bulldogs, going 11-1 in conference play. In addition to her stellar singles play, Siska is 15-2 overall and 11-1 in the SAC in doubles with partner Suzuka Sambyakugari. 

Muderrisoglu, a freshman from Duzce, Turkey, finished the regular season with a 15-3 singles record, going 10-2 in the SAC playing mostly at the No. 1 singles spot. She also competed at No. 1 doubles, compiling a record of 11-5 overall, going 9-3 in league play.  

Taylor earns the SAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year honor after guiding the Bulldogs to a perfect 11-0 SAC regular season and has the Bulldogs up to No. 6 in the national poll.  This is the 12th SAC regular season title for the Bulldogs in the last 13 years and enter the SAC Tournament on a 12-match winning streak.

Joining Siska on the All-SAC first team singles squad is teammate Chloe Kosmrlj along with Catawba's Ami Miya, Limestone's Anamaria Kiszner-Luca, Elodie Baelcher from Tusculum and Muderrisoglu. 

The All-SAC first team doubles honorees are Siska and Sambyakugari of Wingate, Muderrisoglu and Claudia Orsini of Lenoir-Rhyne, and Lenoir-Rhyne's Alicia Wahlberg and Nellie Wahlberg.
