HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker University men’s lacrosse senior Joe Venazio has been named the SPC Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Month for April, announced today (Monday, May 3) by the Coker Athletics Department.
Venazio helped Coker Men’s Lacrosse to three wins in the month of April that clinched a berth in the South Atlantic Conference tournament. In six games in April, Venazio totaled 15 goals and 16 points for 31 points on his way to scoring his 100th career goal against Lincoln Memorial (Apr. 14) and setting a new program single-season points record in the regular season finale against Anderson (S.C.) (Apr. 17). Venazio finished the season seventh in the league in goals (40), second in assists (38) and second in points (78). Venazio earned his first career All-Conference selection on the All-Conference Second Team back on Apr. 21.
This is Venazio’s second career Student-Athlete of the Month selection. The Myrtle Beach, S.C. native is the son of Tanya and Joe Venazio, and is an exercise science major.
