Cobras Set to Race Great American Cross Country Challenge Festival

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College men's and women's cross country team is set to run the Great American Cross Country Challenge Festival Saturday (Oct. 7) beginning at 9:30 a.m. Results of the contest can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com

Scheduled for a distance of eight kilometers, the Coker men will race hard in their fourth contest of the season. In their previous race (Sept. 23) at the Wingate Invitational – Bulldog Stampede, Jacob Chebii placed inside the top-25 with a time of 35:13.73 in the 10k. Teammate Brandon Mullins finished next at the 37:18.84 mark followed by Razzel Kiplaget (38:00.68) and Luke Elliot (40:09.28).

For the women, Darroneshia Lott continues to kick up the dust in strides. The Cobras senior has placed inside the top five in each race this season, to include two second place finishes. With her second-place finish at the Bulldog Stampede, Lott crossed the line moving into second-place in the all-time Coker College record books in 6k races with a time of 22:51.17. She owns the top three 6k times in program history.

Additionally, Chauntress Like, Breanna Sullivan, Lauren Pearson, Brianna Freeman, and Tiffany Taylor all helped round out a solid day on the trails for the Navy and Gold. The women will be running a distance of five kilometers in Saturday's race.

The Great American Cross Country Challenge Festival will be run on Saturday (Oct. 7) morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. in Charlotte, N.C.
