Cobras Ready to Accept Royal Challenge

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker men's and women's cross country teams will run at Queens University's Royal Challenge on Friday (Oct. 7) in Charlotte, N.C.

The Cobras come into the competition after taking part in the Great American XC Festival in Cary, N.C. last Saturday (Oct. 1). The men finished sixth and the women finished 10th. Brandon Mullins led the men finishing in 14th place in 27:29.7, while Jacob Chebii finished 20th in 28:05.9. Luke Elliott (33rd, 29:24) and Jacob Maldonado (36th, 29:47.9) rounded out Coker's top 40. Razzel Kiplaget (46th, 30:24.9), William Mosely (53rd, 31:07.9) and James Gregory (71st, 32:26.9) rounded out the Cobra runners.

Darroneshia Lott picked up her first collegiate win and set a school record at the 5K in 18:37, while Breanna Sullivan finished 38th in 22:44.7. Tiffany Taylor finished 60th in 24:06.6, while Angeline Flores (86th, 26:10.2), Da'Sha Jobes (96th, 28:22.6) and Karley Weiner (106th, 33:00.7) rounded out the Cobra women.

The race is slated for a 4:00 p.m. start.
