Cobras Strike for Solid Day at Great American Cross Country Challenge Festival

RALEIGH, N.C.- The Coker College men's and women's cross country team competed strongly in the Great American Cross County Challenge Festival in Raleigh, NC on Saturday (Oct. 7), having three men finish inside the top 20 in an 8k race, and Darroneshia Lott placing fourth overall in the women's 5k. 

Jacob Chebii pushed the pace for the Cobras in the men's 8k on Saturday with a time of 27:06.1, good for seventh overall. Brandon Mullins wasn't far behind coming in at the 27:59.7 mark coming in 13th. Rounding out the top-20, Razzel Kiplaget finished in 17th with a time of 28:13.3.

For the women, Darroneshia Lott finished fourth overall in the women's 5k with a 17:58.6 time, which places her in second all-time in the Coker record books. Chauntress Like next finished for the Navy and Gold in 22:30.7. Breanna Sullivan kept up with her teammate, finishing in a time of 22:42.1.

The next event for the Coker College men's and women's cross country team will be Saturday (Oct. 21) at the South Atlantic Conference Championships at South Side Park in Newton, N.C.
