Taylor du Bray Wins AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Coker College junior Taylor du Bray (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday afternoon. Du Bray, a Preseason All-SAC selection, earns the first SAC Player of the Week award of her career.

Du Bray has led the Cobras to a 7-1 record, matching their best start since the 1998-99 season. She currently leads the South Atlantic Conference in kills per set (4.27), total kills (111), service aces (16), total points (130.5), and points per set (5.0). Additionally, she ranks 11th in total digs (76), and sixth in service aces per set (0.62).

Du Bray has already recorded four double-doubles this season, including a dominant performance against UNC Pembroke (Aug. 25) when she challenged the Coker all-time kills record with 28 kills, three service aces, and 15 assists while recording a .393 hitting percentage. Since that match against the Braves, she's led her team to six straight victories, and helped close out a thrilling rematch against UNC Pembroke on Saturday (Sept. 1) with consecutive kills in the final two points to give the Cobras the 3-2 victory, and keep their winning streak intact.

Du Bray set the single-season kills record for Coker with 340 kills last season. Her 508 career kills ranks 11th all-time in Coker history.
