Cobras Earn SAC Tournament Berth with Win Over Bears

HICKORY, N.C.- The Coker women's volleyball team finished their regular season schedule against fellow South Atlantic Conference member Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday (Nov. 11) afternoon. The Navy and Gold took the match 3-1 (28-26, 20-25, 25-21, 25-20).

Taylor du Bray led the offensive attack with 15 kills, followed by Madison Bingle with 13, and Alexis Berles with 10. Bingle and du Bray completed their double-doubles with 14 and 13 digs, respectively. Kara Overholt finished with 23 digs, while Missy Reid had 13 and Christen Bragg had 14. Bragg also handed out 49 assists, tacked on two service aces, and four block assists. Bethany Prochnow added eight kills and two block assists to the Navy and Gold totals. Berles also finished with two aces, three solo blocks, and assisted on six blocks. Annie Mansfield finished the afternoon with nine kills, one solo block, and tied her career-high by assisting on three blocks.

The Navy and Gold ended the match with 56 kills, 53 assists, six service aces, 82 digs, five solo blocks, and 16 block assists.  

With the win, the Cobras earn a conference tournament berth. They travel to Anderson to take on the Trojans in the opening round Tuesday (Nov. 14) at 7:00 p.m.
