Cobra Women's Volleyball Hosts Mars Hill and Tusculum in Final Home Matches of the Season

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College women's volleyball team plays host to the Mars Hill Lions and Tusculum Pioneers this weekend. The Cobras will take on the Lions on Friday (Nov. 3) at 7:00 p.m. They will then play the Pioneers on Saturday (Nov. 4) at 2:00 p.m.

Prior to Friday night's match against Mars Hill, the Cobras will honor their five seniors: Missy Reid, Christen Bragg, Bethany Prochnow, Alexis Berles, and Madison Bingle.

The Navy and Gold are coming off of a non-conference win over Belmont Abbey on Tuesday (Oct. 31). Taylor du Bray leads the offense with 261 kills, followed by Bingle with 220 kills. Bragg is fourth in the conference in assists with 886 on the season. Kara Overholt has had a very successful season on the defensive side of the net with 459 digs. Prochnow leads the SAC with 20 solo blocks, and Berles is tied for second in the conference with 18 solo blocks.

The Lions are led by Lauren Hochstetler's 205 kills, and she is followed by Maddie Spurgeon's 197 kills. Rebecca Butler leads the defense with 404 digs, and both Sally Anne Johnson and Butler have 11 solo blocks on the season.

Going into the weekend, the Pioneers are offensively driven by Cassie Born's 301 kills, while Shannon Murphy averages over 10 assists per set, for a total of 1,079 on the season. Melissa Mazur has the most digs for the Pioneers with 478.
