Cobras Drop Tough SAC Match in Five at Tusculum

GREENEVILLE, TN- The Coker College women's volleyball traveled to Tennessee to take on the Pioneers of Tusculum College Saturday (Sept. 30) in a South Atlantic Conference matchup.

Despite career days from Taylor du Bray and Madison Bingle, the Cobras lost the match 3-2 (25-16, 29-27, 25-21, 25-23, 15-11).

Offensively, du Bray dominated with 22 kills, surpassing her previous career high by four, with a .250 hitting percentage. She got the second half of her double-double with 16 digs. Bethany Prochnow set her season high in kills with 10. Alexis Berles got into double-digit kills with 10 of her own, and defensively, assisted on five blocks. She also set her season high in aces with three. Bingle served up a career high 24 digs. Christen Bragg had two service aces, with 13 digs, and a tied season high of four block assists. She also came up one assist short of tying her season high in assists with 51. Annie Mansfield tied her season and career high in aces with two, and offered up 13 digs. Kara Overholt helped the defense with 23 digs and four assists.

The team finished with seven total blocks (one solo and 12 assisted), 59 kills, 56 assists, a season high eight service aces, and 92 digs.

The Cobras return to the DeLoach Center on Tuesday (Oct. 3) against Catawba at 6:30 p.m. for the start of a five game homestand, with four being in conference play.
