Cobras Welcome Tornados and Bears for Alumni Weekend

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's volleyball team returns to the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center on Friday (Sept. 30) and Saturday (Oct. 1) to take on the visiting Brevard College Tornados and the Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears in a pair of South Atlantic Conference matchups. Friday's matchup is set for a 7 p.m. start, while Saturday's match is slated for a 2 p.m. start. Live stats and video will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras come into the matchup with a 7-6 record and a 3-2 mark at home.

Triple-threat setter Christen Bragg leads the way for the Navy and Gold, collecting a team-high 96 kills, dishing out a team-best 265 assists and she is third in digs with 131. Madison Bingle has 88 kills, while Bethany Prochnow has belted 87 kills so far this season. Prochnow also ranks sixth in the South Atlantic Conference, averaging one block per set. Megan Hardy comes in with 77 kills, including eight or more kills in three of her last five matches. Alexis Berles enters the weekend with 76 kills on the season and tied a season-high with three service aces last time out.

As a team, the Cobras rank in the top half of the South Atlantic Conference in digs per set (2nd), digs (3rd), solo blocks (4th), assists (5th), kills (6th), total blocks (6th) and blocks per set (6th).

The Tornados enter Friday's matchup with a 3-9 overall record and a 3-4 mark in South Atlantic Conference play. They are led by the 141 kills of Callie Chappell.

Lenoir-Rhyne will take on Wingate Friday evening before traveling to Coker for Saturday's afternoon meeting. The Bears enter the road trip with a 4-9 record and a 2-4 SAC record. They are led by Brooke Redmond's 159 kills.
