Coker Women’s Volleyball Inks Five for 2016-2017

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College head women's volleyball coach Julia Rafalowski announced today the addition of Taylor du Bray, Sierra Harvey, Greysen Newberry, Shyanne Rebrovich and MacKenzie Watson to the 2016-17 roster. 

Du Bray is a setter and right side hitter from Highlands Ranch, Colo., where she attends Mountain Vista High School. A two-year member of the Golden Eagles varsity volleyball team, she led her team to victories at the Dakota Ridge Invitational in 2014 and 2015.

"Taylor was one of the first players on our target list for 2016," said Rafalowski.   "She is a very athletic and intelligent setter, she's going to bring a new dimension to our offense both as a setter and as a hitter."

Taylor is the daughter of Midge Maguire and John du Bray. She is an undecided major.

Harvey is a middle blocker at Camden County High School in Kingsland, Ga. While a member of the Wildcats girls volleyball team, she was a two-time all-region selection and was named player of the match six times.

"Sierra is a very athletic middle blocker and a very hard worker," said Rafalowski.  "She continues to get better every time I see her play and her potential is sky high.  I'm excited to see her grow into a dominant middle blocker for us."

Sierra is the daughter of Shanda and Reginald Harvey. She plans on majoring in graphic design.

Greysen is an outside and middle hitter from Daleville, Va, where she attended Lord Botetourt High School. She was a two-sport athlete in volleyball and tennis for the Cavaliers. On the volleyball court, she a two-time all-district, all-conference, all-region, all-Timesland and all-state performer. She was also named 2014 and 2015 district, conference and region player of the year.

"Greysen was also our radar early and I had the opportunity to see her play a great deal of volleyball last spring," said Rafalowski.  "Each time I saw her, she grew as a player and consistently got better.  She'll be making the move from the middle to the outside for us and I believe she will develop in to a great player at Coker." 

She is the daughter of Michelle and Mark Newberry. She plans on majoring in biology with a minor in Spanish.

Rebrovich is a defensive specialist and libero from Eddy, Texas where she attended Bruceville Eddy High School. She was a three-year member of both the cheerleading and volleyball team for the Eagles. On the volleyball court, she won the region championship her sophomore year.

"Shyanne is a dynamic defensive player that loves to scrap in the back row," said Rafalowski. "Her love for the game and Coker is evident.  She's an extremely hard worker and will really challenge herself and others on our team to get better."

She is the daughter of Missy and Jeff Rebrovich. She plans on majoring in business.

Watson is a defensive specialist and libero from Milford, Mich., where she attended Milford High School. She was a three-sport athlete in tennis, bowling and volleyball for the Mavericks. On the volleyball court, she was 2015 Kensington Lake Athletic Association first team all-conference performer. She was also a Kensington Lake Athletic Association Scholar Athlete from 2013-2015.

"MacKenzie is a little firecracker in the back row," said Rafalowski. "She's going to bring a vocal presence and stability to our defense.  She's a hard worker and a team player, she betters herself to ultimately better the team." 

She is the daughter of Becki and John Watson. She plans on majoring in political science.
