Cobras Fall in Five-Set Thriller to Trojans

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's volleyball team dropped a five-set South Atlantic Conference match 3-2 to the visiting Anderson University Trojans on Friday (Nov. 13).

Anderson won the first two sets 25-17 and 25-15. The Cobras stormed back to win sets three and four 27-25 and 25-19 to force a fifth set. The teams would trade blows in the fifth and decisive, with the Trojans picking up the 17-15 win. 

Alexis Berles led the way for the Cobras with 11 kills. The duo of Madison Bingle and Shealynn Miller chipped in 10 kills apiece. Missy Reid led Coker on the defensive end with a team-high 22 digs. Christen Bragg, Regan Kennen, Bingle and Kara Overholt all had 10-plus digs as well. Bragg also had a team-high 38 assists.

The Cobras will be back in action tomorrow at 2 p.m. for the season finale against Newberry College.
