Cobras Kickoff Five-Game Homestand against Tornados and Bears

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's volleyball team returns to the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center on Friday (Oct. 23) and Saturday (Oct. 24) to take on the visiting Brevard College Tornados and Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears in South Atlantic Conference action. Friday's match is set for a 7 p.m. start, while Saturday's game is a 2 p.m. start. Live stats and broadcast can be found at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras are led offensively by the duo of Madison Bingle and Megan Hardy. Bingle has a team-high 157 kills and 2.57 kills per set average. Hardy is second on the roster with 102 kills so far this season. Defensively, Bingle joins classmate Rachel Waters to lead the Navy and Gold with 164 and 163 digs through 18 matches. Do-it-all setter Christen Bragg leads the Cobras with 374 assists, to go along with 134 digs and 62 kills.

The Tornados travel to Hartsville with an 8-11 overall and a 5-8 in conference record. They are led by Fatima Gharachorloo who has a conference-high 251 kills.  

The Bears will take on Wingate University Friday night before traveling to Coker on Saturday afternoon. They enter the weekend road trip with a 12-6 overall and a 10-3 in conference record. Offensively, the Bears are led by the 202 kills of Brooke Redmond.

First serve is set for 7 p.m. Friday with the doors of the DeLoach Center opening at 6 p.m. Saturday's match is set for a 2 p.m. start with doors opening at 1 p.m. Tickets are $15 dollars for reserved seats, $5 dollars for adults, $3 dollars for students, and free for all Coker students, faculty and staff.

Friday night the Cobras will host their fourth annual "Dig Pink" match to benefit breast cancer awareness. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to show their support.
