Coker Women’s Volleyball Set to Host Eagles and Railsplitters in Senior Weekend SAC Matches

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's volleyball team will be back in the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center this weekend for a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader. The Cobras will take on the visiting Carson-Newman University Eagles on Friday (Oct. 31) at 7 p.m. The ladies will have a quick turn-around as they welcome the Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters on Saturday (Nov. 1) at noon. The Navy and Yellow are coming off a 3-0 road victory over Pfeiffer. The freshman trio of Christen Bragg, Megan Hardy and Madison Bingle leads the Cobras. Bragg leads the team with 666 assists on the season which is good enough for eighth best in the SAC. Hardy and Bingle lead the team with 148 and 146 kills respectively.

The Eagles come to Hartsville with a 20-5 overall and a 15-2 conference record after a 3-2 loss to Lenoir-Rhyne. They are led by seniors Kristen Pickett, Rachel Harper and Jenna Wilson. Pickett has compiled 893 assist which is third best in the conference. Harper and Wilson are both in the top ten of kills in the SAC with 287 and 269 on the year.

The Railsplitters will take on the Wingate on Friday before playing Coker on Saturday. They enter the weekend road trip with a 15-10 overall and 11-6 in conference record. They are led by Abby Cash and Kiera Holland. Cash has dished out 896 assists which is second best in the conference. Holland has 294 kills on the year which is third best in the SAC.

Friday night's match is senior night, and seniors Samantha Celek and Celia Duggan will be honored before the match. First serve is set for 7 p.m. on Friday with doors opening at 6 p.m.  All fans dressed in a family friendly costume receive free admission and can participate in "Trick or Treating with the Cobras" from 6-7 p.m.

Saturday's match is slated to begin at noon.
