Cobras Drop SAC Match to Wolves

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's volleyball team dropped a South Atlantic Conference match, 3-1, to the Newberry College Wolves on Friday (Oct. 24) night.

The Cobras fell behind 10-2 early in the first set, but would battle back to a 23-21 deficit before dropping the set 25-23. Newberry and Coker would trade sets two and three 25-19 and 25-23, respectively. The Navy and Yellow would carry their momentum into set four, battling back to a 21-20 deficit. However, the Wolves would go on a 4-1 run to close out the set and take the match 3-1.

Megan Hardy led the Cobras with a double-double performance of 11 kills and 20 digs, while Brooke Closset added 10 kills and five digs. Christen Bragg dished out a match-high 38 assists, and Samantha Celek and Elisabeth Merrifield added 17 and 12 digs, respectively.
