Cobras Fall to Royals

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coker women's volleyball team lost, 3-1, to South Atlantic Conference foe Queens University of Charlotte on Tuesday (Oct. 21) night.

The Cobras would drop set one to the Royals, 25-16, but would squeak out a 25-23 set two victory to tie the match heading into the third set. The third frame would be another tightly contested set with the Royals pulling out a close 25-23 win. Queens would carry the momentum into the fourth set and pick up a 25-16 win to take the match 3-1.

Madison Bingle led the Cobras with nine kills and 11 digs, while Megan Hardy added seven kills and nine digs. Christen Bragg registered a double-double with 22 assists and 14 digs, and Samantha Celek and Rachel Waters paced the defense with nine and eight digs, respectively.

The Cobras will be back in action on Friday (Oct. 24) when they host Dig Pink Night against the Wolves of Newberry College. First serve of the South Atlantic Conference tilt is slated for 7 p.m.
