Cobras Fall 3-1 to UNCP

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's volleyball team lost 3-1 (25-21, 18-25, 25-21, 25-22) on Saturday (Nov. 16) night against UNC Pembroke at the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium. 

It was a hard fought battle from the Cobras, but in the end the Braves proved to be too much.  Coker fell in the first set 25-21, but then rallied back to take command of the second set 25-18.  Pembroke however, would go on to win sets three and four to take the game.

Taylor Willis led the offensive attack for the Cobras with a game high 21 kills on the night.  Cassandra Nagel and Hannah Vadakin were next in line for the Cobras with nine kills each. 

Mindy Morris guided the defense with 20 digs, while Willis contributed 11 followed by Nagel with 10.  Willis was also the match leader in blocks with five on the night. 

This was Coker's final game of the 2013-14 season.  Coker will lose five seniors:  Samantha Celek, Kelly Stine, Katie McElveen, Morris and Willis.
