HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College head women’s volleyball coach, Jon Stenman has resigned his position at Coker to become the head coach for Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, La.

Stenman departs from Coker after two seasons at the helm of the Lady Cobras volleyball team. Leading Coker was Stenman’s first stint as collegiate head coach; in his two seasons he compiled a record of 8-53.

“I would like to thank the administration at Coker for giving me the opportunity to be a head coach at the NCAA Division II level,” said Stenman. “Much of what I learned here, I will take with me throughout my coaching career.”

In addition to his duties as the volleyball coach, Stenman was also a professor in the Physical Education Department and was very active on Coker’s campus. He will be greatly missed by the entire college community.

“It was a very difficult decision to leave, but Centenary gave me an offer that I just could not pass up. I wish everyone at Coker all the best, especially my players, in all of their future endeavors.”

Coker will begin an immediate nationwide search for a new coach, with the hope of having a new coach in place within the coming months.
