Olivia Jordan Sets Coker Record at SAC Indoor Conference Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Coker University women's track and field team completed day one of the SAC Indoor Conference Championships on Saturday (Feb. 29). The Cobras had a great day, as one new school record was set.

Olivia Jordan broke the Coker school record with a distance of 2.50m in the pole vault. In the 60m, Calene Lazare (7.67) and Nyasia Weatherly (7.76) each qualified for finals. Iyana Mann and Syriah Lottimore each recoded a distance of 5.07m in the long jump. Destiny Ingram set a personal record in the 800m with a time of 2:25.97. Tiffany Taylor finished eighth in the pentathlon, and also set a personal record in the hurdles. Caterra Barkins set a season best of 11.36m in the weight throw.

"We really showed up today with tons of personal bests and a lot of athletes advancing to the finals," said coach Pete Early. "We look forward to closing it out tomorrow."

The Cobras will be back in action on Sunday (Mar. 1) as they continue the SAC Indoor Conference Championships. The action is slated to begin at 10:00 a.m., with live results available at www.cokercobras.com.
