Ruff Wins 100-Meter Hurdles, Shatters School and SAC Record at SAC Championships

HICKORY, N.C. -- The Coker College women's track and field team wrapped up their outdoor season with an impressive showing at the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday (Apr. 20).

Kaylah Ruff finished out a spectacular senior season, winning the 100-meter, and shattering her own school record with a time of 14.16 seconds. Her time of 14.16 seconds also broke the South Atlantic Conference Championships meet record. Ruff set the all-conditions Coker record in the prelims with a national qualifying time of 14.13 seconds, and now owns the top 13 all-conditions 100-meter times in school history. Ruff followed up her 100-meter hurdles victory with an impressive fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, notching a time of 1:07.01.

Tiffany Taylor enjoyed an excellent day also, posting the fourth-best shot put distance in school history (10.25 meters), seventh-best javelin distance in school history (30.10), and third-best heptathlon score (3260) finishing in sixth place overall.
