Kaylah Ruff Wins 100-Meter Hurdles, Cobras Place Fifth Overall at CIU Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The Coker College women's track and field team placed fifth out of 14 teams at the CIU Invitational on Saturday (Mar. 23).

Kaylah Ruff placed first in the 100-meter hurdles, notching the second-fastest time in Coker history at 14.40 seconds. She's now posted the top three marks in school history over her last two competitions.

Olivia Jordan placed first, and Tiffany Taylor placed second in the high jump. Jordan's winning distance was 1.45 meters, while Taylor posted a distance of 1.43 meters. Jordan had a terrific all-around day, also setting the school record in the pole vault with a distance of 2.66 meters.

Caterra Barkins had an impressive showing in the discus, as she finished with a distance of 34.62 meters, good for second-best in Coker history.

The Cobras will be back in action next Saturday (30) when they travel to Raleigh, N.C. for the Raleigh Relays.
