Coker's Lott Qualifies for NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field National Championship

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker College women's track and field member Darroneshia Lott has qualified for the 2018 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field National Championship in the 800-meter run, doing so for the first time. Lott is the only runner in program history to qualify for the indoor championships.

Last season at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Bradenton, Fla., Lott brought home a fourth place finish in the 800-meter, posting a personal-best time of 2:07.40. Lott also holds the honor of being the first and only All-American in cross country for the Navy and Gold.

This season, Lott has competed in one indoor event, securing a time of 2:11.53 in the 800-meter race at the JDL College Kick-off Classic, where the decorated senior took the tallest stance on the podium, finishing just over two seconds faster than the second place finisher.

Lott will travel to Pittsburg, Kansas on Friday and Saturday March 9-10 to compete in the championships. Results from the championships can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
