Leake Leads Cobras at Art & Linda Maillet UNC Open

CHAPEL Hill, N.C. – The Coker College women's track and field team wrapped up competition on Saturday (Jan. 14) at the Art & Linda Maillet UNC Open in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Noelia Leake was the top performer for the Cobras, placing second in the 60-meter dash, posting a time of 7.78, shattering the previous Coker indoor record of 7.85. Leake also picked up an eighth-place showing the 200-meter dash, running a time of 26.16.

Coker had two teams place in the top-10 in the 4 x 400-meter relay. The quartet of Autumn Walters, Avian Batts, Kaylah Ruff and Jalecia Williamson finished in eighth with a time of 4:27.53. The squad of Charity Snelling, Darroneshia Lott, Angel Gale and Briana Nixon finished in ninth, running a time of 4:29.75. 

Snelling also performed will in the high jump, recording a distance of 5' 1''. 

The Cobras will be back in action on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 20-21) when they travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. for the Wake Forest Invitational.
