Lott Wins 800 Meters; Cobras Place Four in Top Ten

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Coker College women's track and field team had a strong showing on Saturday (Dec. 3) at the JDL College Kick-Off Classic. 

Darroneshia Lott led the way for the Navy and Gold, placing first in the 800-meter dash. Her time of 2:15.23 also shattered the previous Coker record by more than seven seconds.

Noelia Leake finished fourth in the 200-meter dash, recording a time of 25.95. Her time was good enough for fifth in the Coker record books. She also ran a time of 7.86 in the 60-meter dash preliminaries, which was just .01 slower than her own Coker record.

In the high jump, Charity Snelling finished seventh with a distance of 1.55 meters.

In the long jump, Da'Sha Jobes also finished in seventh, recording a distance of 5.42 meters. Her distance of 17' 9.5" broke the previous Coker record, which she previously set.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Jan. 14) when they travel to the UNC Open.
