WOMEN'S TENNIS RANKED 43RD IN LATEST ITA DII POLL
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN PROGRAM HISTORY THAT COKER WOMEN'S TENNIS HAS BEEN INCLUDED IN THE COVETED POLL
Tempe, AZ - For the first time in program history, your Coker Women's Tennis team is ranked in the ITA DII Women's Top 50!
The Cobras are out to a fast start this season with wins over Lander, North Greenville, Johnson C. Smith, Anderson, and Mount Olive. They are 5-1 on the young season and started off 1-0 in conference play with a gritty 4-2 win over Anderson.
The Cobras had two Preseason All-SAC honorees, with Jade Bellegy making the All-SAC Second Team in singles and the pairing of her and Emerson Banning being named to the All-SAC First Team in doubles. The Cobras have been consistent all the way down the lineup, earning key wins at each position to keep them in every match they play.
Banning, named to that preseason doubles team, has really hit her stride recently in singles as well, being named the SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week this past week. Along with her, Caroline Myers is undefeated in her singles ventures with a 5-0 mark on the year.
The Cobras will look to continue their winning ways tomorrow, battling against another Top-50 team in the form of the Wingate Bulldogs. That match will start at 11:00 AM ET!
